Eligibility

Who can apply.

We aim to keep eligibility simple. The basic requirements are straightforward — but program-specific rules vary.

Basic Requirements
  • • U.S. resident (any state)
  • • 18 years or older
  • • Valid email address
  • • Honest about your situation
We Cannot Help With
  • • Business or commercial assistance
  • • International applicants
  • • Cash advances or loans
  • • Bail / legal defense funding

Specific program eligibility

Each federal and state program has its own income limits, residency requirements, and documentation rules. For example:

  • SNAP — Generally household income at or below 130% of federal poverty line.
  • LIHEAP — Income at or below 150% of federal poverty level (varies by state).
  • Section 8 — Income at or below 50% of area median income.
  • Medicaid — Income limits vary widely by state and household type.
  • Pell Grants — Determined by FAFSA Expected Family Contribution.

Don't worry about figuring this out yourself — we do that work as part of reviewing your application.

Approval is not guaranteed.

Even if you meet the basic requirements above, direct assistance depends on funding availability and your eligibility for specific programs. We'll always do our best — and if we can't help directly, we'll connect you to programs that may be able to.
