How we're funded.
We're a for-profit company, so we have to explain how we sustain ourselves. Here's the full breakdown.
1. Corporate Partnerships
We partner with mission-aligned companies in housing, energy, healthcare, and financial services. These partners contribute funds toward our direct assistance pool in exchange for collaborative outreach and program development.
2. Donor Contributions
Individuals and organizations contribute toward our direct assistance pool. These contributions are not tax-deductible as we are not a 501(c)(3). We are upfront about this with all donors.
3. Program Revenue
When we refer applicants to certain third-party services (such as private healthcare brokers, debt management services, or workforce training providers), we may receive a referral fee. This compensation does not change the cost to the applicant. Government programs are always free.
What we don't do
- We do not sell applicant data to data brokers or marketing companies.
- We do not charge applicants any fees, ever.
- We do not advertise to applicants based on their submitted information.
- We do not require applicants to use partner services to receive our direct assistance.
